Options Trading Webinar Recap – Patience, Options and Plays
Given the short week due to the Memorial Day holiday markets have been quite active. In fact, quite volatile with a capital V. Yet, the movement and ‘scary’ Tuesday have once again set up some nice trading opportunities. Further, soothing words from the Fed and encouraging economic data have everyone still wondering about the rate hike timing. Frankly, it’s not really that difficult to figure out, but we’ll just pay attention to the market signals.
One of most important qualities to being successful in trading options is about being patient, waiting for trades to come to you. Quite often as buyers of option premium we find ourselves trying to push trades to work on our time rather than letting them just happen. Do we just exit a trade if the chart is saying not to do so? Risk management rules are important but we must remember why we are in the trade to begin with.
Webinar Discussion: Trading Opportunities
I answered some questions today and took some ideas and gave a ‘skinny’ opinion based on the charts, and spoke about some ideas of mine which included Ebay and FireEye. After the volatility pop we have the VIX backing down but the indices have still not broken out to higher ground – that could be next as we have a wall of worry still up.
As usual, I covered recent market action and earnings, charts that are looking really good right now, and some trade ideas that we put into play this week in the Explosive Options service.
