Webinar Recap: Trends and Indicators with Helene Meisler
Famed analyst Helene Meisler and my colleague on realmoney.com joined me today for a rare interview. She is a long time veteran of the markets and is absolutely brilliant at analyzing technicals and sentiment.
Before I brought her on, we reviewed the Google chart, which was a HUGE winner for us last week – at least if you like a 1,600% profit! We also discussed the earnings reports that have been issued (will Apple ever make the markets happy again?), those that are still coming up, and recent market action (more on that below).
The wide ranging discussion we had with Helene was both eye-opening an educational. She really is the consummate technician! Helene talked at length about indicators and trends, including the tools to use and indicators to pay attention to. We both took questions as well.
Market Action
We certainly had plenty to talk about here! Earnings season is off to a strong start but the specter of Fed rate increases have some investors jumpy. Meanwhile, the strong volatility we typically see in July appears to be on a brief hiatus; I expect it to return soon. And of course, we have a dangerously low VIX and awful breadth that may cause some pain eventually.
Markets were down again today but many of our Explosive Options plays were higher, like Skyworks and Baidu. I do see some potential for this market to move higher, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Bob Lang and Helene Meisler discuss the markets, top options trading strategies, charts and technicals, and take questions:
