Options Trading Webinar: Market and Chart Review
Because April is typically a strong month for the markets, this options trading webinar focused on the current state of the markets and promising charts. And sure enough, the markets are picking up. The bulls were out in force earlier this week after news broke that a cut in crude oil production may be coming – and oil ended up closing at new highs for 2016. While the move on Tuesday was powerful and on good turnover, the next move’s direction is still in question.
We spend some time discussing core components of options trading:
- Risk Management: It is paramount to have a good risk management strategy if you want to be successful at investing or trading.
- Options Flow Techniques: You don’t want to follow exact flow blindly; you need to be flexible around the trades.
- Taking Losses: Losses are an inevitable part of of the game, so you must accept that they will happen.
And of course we looked at some promising charts, like BIDU, GOOGL and SPX. I also took chart analysis requests from our audience.
This Week’s Market Action
What a difference a week makes! The VIX had been rising, but the strong market action burned off a lot of volatility. The VIX is now sitting under 16. Breadth has also improved tremendously and put/call ratios have raced lower. Even talk about lowered expectations from Fed speakers hasn’t dampened the action. Overall, things are looking good.
