In this week’s option trading webinar Ben Lichtenstein joined us to discuss markets, trading and how to overcome the challenges of trading.
As the President of Tradersaudio.com and a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Ben Lichtenstein is an experienced trader. We started the webinar talking about the current market environment. After such a tremendous run higher, it made sense that the markets would pull back some. This short trading week (markets are closed on Good Friday) served that purpose; much of the overbought condition burned off. We also discussed the VIX’s low level and the need for caution.
Ben discussed his take on the markets. He is a tremendous pit broadcaster, but he has recently been trading his own account and gave everyone his own spin. This is a game about psychology and behavior as much as anything, and Ben explained how to approach the trading game strategically.
This Week’s Market Action
After an enormous run higher over the last six weeks, it seemed everyone was looking for a turn down. That is a loser’s game in my book, and those who have been trying to call a top for the last several weeks have been wrong and burned badly.
Price action rules all, and while it seems resistance is at hand slightly higher, there is no blueprint for when the sellers decide to take the market down. We’ll play it accordingly and book wins along the way.
