Options Trading Webinar: Chart Analysis
Wondering where the trading opportunities are hiding? During this options trading webinar, I did one of my popular “lightning rounds” of chart analysis. Webinar attendees had the opportunities to call out charts of their choice and asked me to quickly analyze charts of various names. Some of these were strong candidates. The names we looked at included:
- AVGO
- T
- XLE
- XME
- oil names
- POT
We also covered the importance of volatility and the VIX term structure and the current market rally, which id about three weeks old now. We are still in a bear market, though, so we all need to have one hand on the door. Protection (puts) is needed at all times.
With that said, the quality of this rally is solid, and we may have more upside. The overbought readings are off the charts, so we could expect some giveback (any dip might be quickly bought up).
This Week’s Market Action
February went out with a bang, but March has come in strong, too. The momentum of the market continues, but indicators are showing some severe overbought signs. Because this rally has been quite broad, any pullback might be shallow. For now, we’ll just play accordingly with our stock picking process.
