Options Trading Webinar: How To Win At Trading With Intraday Indicators
Intraday indicators are one of the most valuable tools in a trader’s toolbox. They give us a read on where the direction/trend of the market is heading during the trading day. Intraday indicators include:
- NYSE TICK index
- Advances/declines
- Volume trends
- Price movements of the e-mini (a stock market futures contract)
In this options trading webinar, we discussed how to use these indicators to find opportunities and win at trading.
The webinar started off with a look at the current market environment – it appears the lift above 1950 on the SPX 500 is real. Volatility was slammed on Thursday, so we touched on the overheated oscillators. The VIX curve is now in contango.
The focus of our discussion was on pre-market and intraday market indicators. We use several tools to give us an edge. During pre-market, we review what happened overnight. During the trading day, we watch for news, events and economic data that affect the markets. We use all of this information to uncover a market that may or may not have a bid and move accordingly.
This Week’s Market Action
Stocks have pulled into a higher gear this month, but make no mistake: Sentiment is still skewed to the bearish side, so we might not see upside moves just yet. The VIX popped sharply on Tuesday, and with the oscillators still burning hot, some giveback doesn’t come as a surprise.
