Options Trading Webinar: How To Overcome A Trading Slump
If January left you feeling bruised and battered, this webinar is for you. Whether the markets are in bearish or bullish territory, it’s easy to let your emotions get the best of you. In fact, no matter how experienced you are, it can be easy to fall into a trading slump.
We kicked things off talking about market action and charts. Damage has been done to the technicals, but for now we are in a trading range. This does not bode well for the markets if buyers cannot get on board, so we’ll have to see if sentiment can change for the better.
Next we focused on the various strategies you can use to pull out of a trading slump, get back in the game, and start banking wins. It’s not easy when you’re in a trading slump. Self-doubt gets stronger, and you begin to hesitate, which often leads to mistakes. Those can be corrected of course, but if you’re knocked out of the game for good, what is the point? I often will trade lighter or just take a time out when I’m in a trading slump, preferring to take a step back and review my strategies. Alternatively, you can read up on some new material, write down your thoughts, or just practice – this will help you get your edge back.
This Week’s Market Action
Volatility continues in this market. Thursday closed modestly, masking the action of the day. The broad markets are still under heavy distribution, and while that has been evident for quite some time, there is still no let up. Nervous players are selling stocks, and some of the biggest favorites of last year are getting punished severely. Earnings are not much help either, as the results and guidance have been poor.
