Webinar Recap: Volatility, Earnings, and Market Analysis with Jill Malandrino
Strategist and all-around options expert Jill Malandrino from optionsprofits.com joined us for this week’s webinar. What a great discussion! We really dove deep into market analysis and covered some important topics, from volatility in the markets to earnings. (Volatility has been on everyone’s mind recently, which is why I covered it in a blog post earlier this week.)
First, we reviewed the Google stock chart, a fantastic mover post-earnings that will continue to light it up going forward. I also pointed out that though the market structure looks good, the VIX shows high complacency, which is a danger sign.
Jill’s market analysis was next, and she profiled some names of interest including Tyson Foods (TSN), Lam Research (LRCX) and XLE. She showed option trade setups for these names plus a few others. We chatted about the recent volatility and the market opportunity it has presented.
Market Action
This week’s webinar covered charts and recent plays – we had another busy week at Explosive Options! In fact, this has been one of the best weeks for results in quite some time – we booked gains in several names including Starbucks, Facebook, Google (twice!), Alexion. We also picked up some new names that are working well, and with earnings season underway there will be more to come!
