What are futures doing?
Stocks are ready to start in the green after equity futures were belted to start the session on Easter evening. Yet, that was the low of the session as buyers scooped up futures at a discount. More rhetoric on the war front as the tone has escalated.
News
Stocks across the pond were down modestly, STOXX led lower by France and Germany. The FTSE was unchanged. Gold is up modestly as is silver, oil is down from the highs after some potential positives in Iran might be seen. Yields are rising a bit this morning across the curve, the Nikkei is up nicely while Shanghai slightly higher, Hong Kong unchanged. US dollar index mostly flat.
Volatility
Market volatility is picking up again, the VIX has come down some from the low 30’s but remains elevated, so we should continue to expect some wide swings up and down.
