What are futures doing?
Stocks are rising this morning as equity futures catch a nice bid. Monday’s action we weak but laden with sellers, that could change today if the bulls can press their case.
News
The STOXX in Europe was unchanged but we saw slight gains in France and Germany. The FTSE lost quite a bit of ground, off 1.1%. Crude oil this morning is losing some of Monday’s gains, off about 2% with gold and silver up slightly. German 10 yr bund yields fell 1bp in light trade, Japan and China markets closed again, Hong Kong down .8%.
Volatility
The VIX was the story yesterday with worries over the Iran War spilling over to the markets. Volatility rose up smartly above 18% but that’s all it got Monday, back below there today and the bulls will be on the move.
