What are futures doing?
It would be very exciting to get a followthrough day here, futures are up sharply before the opening bell and that means we could have some new highs at some point today. Even the small cap IWM is showing some life.
News
Modest gains in Europe as STOXX rose .4% led higher by gains in France and Germany. Gold is bouncing back, up 1%, silver higher but crude oil is retreating, well under $90. Stocks in Asia were higher, Japan and China with solid gains. Bunds are rallying with yields falling, the US 10 year yield is coming in modestly.
Volatility
The VIX remains stable, nobody really wants to leave the party yet before earnings season gets started. Vix remains down under 16%, we’ll see if the equity bid continues to keep the VOLATILITY index contained.
